Artur Zaborski Appointed Vice-Rector for International Cooperation – A New Era Begins!
We’re thrilled to announce that Artur Zaborski — a respected cultural journalist and long-time collaborator of the Warsaw Film School — has been appointed Vice-Rector for International Cooperation!
Artur Zaborski is the Artistic Director of Script Fiesta, our renowned screenwriting festival held annually for the past 13 years at Kino Elektronik, right here at the Warsaw Film School. But that’s just the beginning of his contributions. Together with Maria Kadłuczko, a graduate of our School and Script Fiesta’s coordinator, he played a key role in organizing international screenings of People (dir. Maciej Ślesicki & Filip Hillesland) in over thirty countries. Thanks to this dynamic duo, the powerful message of the film — and the ongoing war in Ukraine — reached audiences in some of the most remote corners of the globe.
Now, as Vice-Rector, Artur Zaborski will lead the charge in building our international partnerships. With his vision and passion, we’re certain the road ahead will be filled with cinematic adventures and spectacular (global!) achievements.
Artur Zaborski is a cultural journalist whose work spans Polish, American, Canadian, and Swedish media. He studied film studies and literary criticism at the Jagiellonian University and has served as Film Editor at Onet.pl and Editor-in-Chief at Stopklatka.pl. Today, he’s also a lecturer at the Warsaw Film School.
Artur wears many creative hats — he’s the Artistic Director of the Script Fiesta festival and the Summer Film Academy in Zwierzyniec, and is closely connected to the Tofifest International Film Festival in Toruń. Over his 15-year career, he’s interviewed some of the biggest names in cinema, including Nicole Kidman, George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Penélope Cruz, Mel Gibson, and Winona Ryder.
He’s a two-time recipient of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage scholarship, and in 2022, he was awarded a prestigious Sundance Institute Fellowship for journalists covering minority issues. Artur’s outstanding work has also earned him the Polish Film Institute Award for Best Film Critic.
