This year's edition of the festival was held under the motto "We want to touch you" – "It's a love letter of the cinema to the audience, because empty cinema halls miss you as much as you miss them" – this is how Paweł Korsuń, the originator and director of the festival, justified choice of using it.
The "Kinematografek" award – given by the prison jury – was awarded for the eighth time this year. The title about the story of two women serving sentences was considered the best. Alicja Sokół, the film's director, and Katarzyna Rogalska, the cinematographer, met the characters during the Prison Art Review in Sztum.
The film crew had to go through a complicated process of getting permission to shoot in a detention center. Although they eventually got them, there were obstacles involved in shooting particular locations and people. However, this did not prevent the film from being completed.

"We Are Not Friends" has been in the official selection of festivals such as MŁODZI I FILM in Koszalin, Demakijaż in Krakow, and Long Story Short in Wrocław. It was also presented abroad at the Short Film Market accompanying the festival in Clermont-Ferrand. The documentary has already won at the Węgiel Film Festival in the Best Polish Film category.
It is worth mentioning that another picture by Alicja Sokół – a feature short "My Brother Fisherman" – won the Grand Prix of the Short Films Competition and the Heliograf award for Best Cinematography (Kajetan Falkowski) at the 46th Gdynia Film Festival – the most important Polish film event.
Congratulations!
